Bush Fire Danger Period has commenced in Gunnedah Shire. A Fire Permit is now required for burning activities.

Substantial fines and prison terms of up to 12 months may apply to persons lighting fires without a permit. Persons responsible for lighting fires that cause damage to other properties may be required to pay damages.
